Hummus Lunch Ideas


  • 2 tbsp tinned chickpeas, heaped
  • 1 tbsp low-fat Greek style yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove of garlic, peeled
  • 1/4 tsp of paprika (to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp cumin (to taste)
  • Juice of 1/2 a lemon


  1. Put the chickpeas, lemon juice, yoghurt, oil, spices and garlic in a bowl.
  2. Use a hand blender to mix until smooth.
  3. Eat now, or save in the fridge for later!


Use your hummus as a dip for slices of pita bread, cucumber, pepper, carrot or celery!

You can also use it as filling for a wrap, pita bread or a sandwich and add veg or cooked meats like ham.

Try adding onto a rice cake. You can cut a grape in half for eyes, a piece of celery for a nose and cut ham into a mouth to make a funny face! Great for kids!
