  • 150g oats
  • 75g butter
  • 75g honey or Golden Syrup
  • 75g caster sugar
  • 100ml cold water


  1. Add the cold water and sugar to a pan and bring to a boil. Stir until dissolved to form a clear syrup. Pour into a bowl and leave to cool.
  2. Preheat the oven to 170°C/Fan 150°C/Gas Mark 3. Line a baking tray with non-stick baking paper.
  3. Melt the butter, honey and sugar together in a medium pan. Add the oats and mix.
  4. Pour the mixture into the baking tray and press flat into the edges with the back of a spoon.
  5. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
  7. Turn out and cut into squares on a chopping board.
