Ingredients

  • 200g self-raising flour
  • 60g grated cheese
  • 100ml milk
  • 40g margarine
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C/Gas Mark 7 and grease a baking tray.
  2. Add the flour and margarine to a mixing bowl. Using your fingertips rub the ingredients together until it looks like fine breadcrumbs.
  3. Stir in the cheese and milk to make a soft dough.
  4. Sprinkle a little flour on the worktop and knead the dough.
  5. Split the dough into 8 pieces, make into balls and then flatten on top to make circle shapes.
  6. Place circles on baking tray and rub a little bit of milk on the top.
  7. Cook in the oven for about 10-12 mins or until scones are golden brown.
