Attendance Policy

Childcare settings recognise the importance of encouraging families to get into consistent routines and to ensure they monitor the attendance of all children.

Recent research shows that children who consistently attend early years provision achieve better GCSE grades and gain higher earnings later in life.

We also know that infrequent attendance in early years can continue for many children into their school lives and have a detrimental impact on their life chances.

We have introduced an attendance policy to provide you with some guidance on dealing with issues of non-attendance in future. The policy will also give you links to other agencies who can support settings.
