• Staffordshire highways crews repaired 4,022 potholes in August, up from 3,183 in August last year.

• Since 1 April, crews have repaired 22,375 potholes, helping keep the council on track towards its 40,000 target by March 2027.

• Innovation including velocity patching, screeding, the JCB Pothole Pro and cut and break crews is helping speed up repairs and improve roads across the county.

• £550,000 improvement works at Pye Green crossroads in Cannock will start on 1 September and last around six weeks.

• The scheme includes resurfacing the carriageway and repairing ironworks between Prince Street, Robson Close, Limepit Lane, Seabury Drive, Belt Road and Holly Street.

• Temporary traffic lights, road closures, suspended bus stops and a signed diversion will be in place, with driveway access maintained throughout.
