Explosives
If you store fireworks, safety cartridges and detonators you must have a current licence. Depending on the type and quantity of explosive you are storing, you may need to register with the Police or the Health and Safety Executive instead of Trading Standards.

If you wish to sell Fireworks all year
You will need a licence to do so, as a normal registration only permits you to supply fireworks during limited periods.

Petroleum spirit
If you dispense or store petroleum in quantities greater than 275 litres you must apply for a licence with this authority.
Petroleum means any product of crude petroleum with a flashpoint below 21°C.
This includes:
- petrol
- benzene
- pentane
- any mixture containing these with a flashpoint below 21°C.
It does not include:
- white spirit
- paraffin
- diesel oil
- or fuel oils.
