Remote and hybrid workers can now benefit from new hot desk facilities in Burton, installed in response to growing demand for flexible workspaces across Staffordshire.
The last year has seen a 16% rise in bookings of hot desks and meeting rooms across Staffordshire County Council’s eight enterprise centres as more people look for affordable and professional alternatives to working from home.
To meet this demand, the council has expanded its hot desk provision to Waterside Court Enterprise Centre in Burton. Conveniently located on the Centrum 100 Business Park just minutes from the A38, the centre offers a productive environment for anyone needing a place to work.
One person, who has already benefited from using this new facility is Karen Glynn, Co-Director of P J Recruitment based in Burton-on-Trent.
Karen said:
"I find the hot desks at Waterside Court invaluable to my business. I mostly work from home where there are a lot of distractions, so it’s great that I can book a professional space where I can focus.
"There’s plenty of room, it’s in a convenient location, and I have access to meeting rooms when I need to meet with clients, which is very useful. The parking facilities are excellent too. I intend to continue using the hot desks in 2026."
Hot desk users can enjoy internet access, communal kitchen facilities, on-site management support and opportunities to network with like-minded entrepreneurs.
Hot desks are available from just £10 a day, or £99 per month for unlimited use, offering an affordable alternative to working from home or renting a full office.
Meeting rooms can also be booked from £30, making the centre ideal for client meetings, team catch-ups or private work sessions.
Martin Murray, Acting Leader and Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills at Staffordshire County Council, said:
“These new hot desks offer a convenient and cost-effective solution for people who don’t need a full office but still want the benefits of a professional workspace.
“Whether you’re working remotely, running a small business or just need somewhere quiet to focus, Waterside Court now provides that flexibility. It’s all part of our ongoing commitment to supporting businesses and workers across Staffordshire with the right spaces to succeed.”
Waterside Court also offers a range of office and industrial units to rent on flexible, monthly terms. Businesses are not tied into long contracts, giving them the freedom to upsize, downsize or relocate as needed.
