Highway Improvements in High Lane, Breach Road and Clay Lake on the B5051
Starting on Monday, 23 February, the £37k project will deliver a series of highway improvements to High Lane, Breach Road and Clay Lake on the B5051 between Endon and Brown Edge, and Station Road at Endon. The improvements follow consultation with local residents and are designed to enhance safety across the route.
The proposed work includes new 30mph signs and safety camera reminders to reinforce the speed limit. An upgraded illuminated Give Way sign will also be installed at the Broad Lane/Breach Road junction. Additionally, access protection markings will be installed along Clay Lake and Station Road.
To ensure safe operation of the junction, additional waiting restrictions (double yellow lines)will be provided along Station Road and its junction with A53 Leek Road.
When are the works taking place?
From 23 February 2026
When will the works be completed?
The scheme is due to take approximately 4 to 5 days to complete, weather permitting. We are planning to undertake the road marking works on Clay Lake and Station Road on 25 February 2026.
Will I be able to access my home/business?
Access to homes and businesses will be maintained where possible. Pedestrian access will remain available throughout the works; however, we kindly ask all pedestrians to take extra care when passing through the working area.
To help us complete the scheme on time and with minimal disruption, please ensure that vehicles are not parked within the works area.
What effect could the works have on me?
The works may cause temporary disruption, including possible delays, restricted access at certain times, and the need to follow traffic management around High Lane, Breach Road, Clay Lake, and Station Road.
You may also experience increased construction activity, some noise, and parking restrictions, particularly in areas where new road markings and safety improvements are being installed.
