Structural Maintenance Works on A521 Delphouse Road in Cheadle
Staffordshire County Council will shortly be carrying out significant works on the A521 Delphouse Road, as they start work on an £255,000 investment in the local area. The team will be replacing ironwork where necessary, replacing damaged kerbs and resurfacing the carriageway. The works will be conducted under lane closures, and night time closures for the resurfacing of the carriageway.
When are the works taking place?
The work will commence in 29 June 2026.
How long will the works take?
Approximately 4 Weeks.
Will I be able to access my home/business?
To keep disruption to a minimum, and for the safety of the public and our workforce, the works will be conducted under nighttime closures for the duration of the works.
Access to the surrounding roads for residents will be maintained for the majority of the scheme. However for the safety of the public and our workforce, during the resurfacing phase there will be closures in place between 20th July and 27th July. These road closures will be in place 7pm – 6am each night.
During the road closures, a diversion route will be in place for properties outside the workspace, no through traffic will be permitted.
What effect could the works have on me?
We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community but as with any major works, some minor traffic delays may occur.
Although we will do our best to ensure that noise pollution is kept to a minimum, it is likely that noise will be heard during the working times.
Please take care to plan your journeys and if necessary move vehicles to an accessible location during work phases (public letters will be delivered to affected properties with specific scheme details).
