A518 Town Meadow Way, Uttoxeter

Staffordshire County Council will shortly be carrying out significant works on the A518 Town Meadow Way in Uttoxeter, as they start work on an £950,000 investment in the local area.

The team will be replacing ironwork where necessary, replacing damaged kerbs and resurfacing the carriageway. The works will be conducted under lane closures, and nighttime closures for the resurfacing of the carriageway.

When are the works taking place?

The work will commence in 11 May 2026

How long will the works take?

Approximately 7 Weeks

Will I be able to access my home/business?

For the safety of the public and of the work force there will be nighttime road closures in place during the resurfacing phase of works. These nighttime closures will be in place from the 15 June 2026 until 26 June 2026, and will be in place between the hours of 7pm and 6am each night.

Access to the surrounding roads for residents will be maintained for the majority of the scheme. Delays must be expected during resurfacing phases.

During the road closures, a diversion route will be in place for properties outside the workspace, no through traffic will be permitted.

What effect could the works have on me?

We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community but as with any major works, some minor traffic delays may occur.

Although we will do our best to ensure that noise pollution is kept to a minimum, it is likely that noise will be heard during the working times.

Please take care to plan your journeys and if necessary move vehicles to an accessible location during work phases (public letters will be delivered to affected properties with specific scheme details).
