A511 Ashby Road, Burton on Trent

Staffordshire County Council will shortly be carrying out significant works at A511, Burton upon Trent, as they start work on a £200,000 investment in the local area. The team will be addressing drainage systems, replacing ironwork where necessary, replacing damaged kerbs where necessary re-aligning the current layout and resurfacing the carriageway. This work will take place at the junction of A511 Ashby Road and Beaufort Road.

Structural Maintenance Work for the A511 Ashby Road

When are the works taking place?

The work will commence on 02 October 2023

How long will the works take?

The work was completed on 12 October 2023

Will I be able to access my home/business?

Traffic Management will vary as the scheme passes through each phase of the works.

Initial phase will include a road closure of Beaufort Road when required at the junction of Ashby Road to allow for plant storage and enable 2 way signals (09:30-15:00) on Ashby Road. This will allow for civils work to be completed on the site and is expected to be in place for 2 weeks.

For the safety of the public and of the work force the carriageway resurfacing phase will require a full road closure which will be in place 19:00-06:00 week days and is expected to be completed in one week.

For the small number of properties within the work area access will be maintained when safe to do so. Delays must be expected during resurfacing phases.

A diversion route will be in place for properties outside the work space, no through traffic will be permitted.

Diversion route is as follows: A511 Ashby Rd, A511 Burton Rd, A514 Swadlincote Rd, A514 Derby Road, A514 Civic Way, A514 William Nadin Way, Cadley Hill Rd, A444 Woodland Road, A444 Station Rd, A444 Stanton Rd, St Pipers Street, A444 Stapenhill Rd, A511 Ashby Rd – Vis Verca.

What effect could the works have on me?

We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community but as with any major works, some minor traffic delays may occur. Please take care to plan your journeys and if necessary move vehicles to an accessible location during work phases (public letters will be delivered to affected properties with specific scheme details).
