CX001 Structural Maintenance Works on A34 Beecroft Road, Cannock

Staffordshire County Council will shortly be carrying out overnight works on the A34 roundabout junction of Beecroft Road and its approaches. Works will include the removal of the existing carriageway surface and replacing it with a new surface, along with other preparation works known as civil works. This will include work on the damaged drainage system, replacement of pedestrian guard railings and the replacement and re-setting of carriageway ironworks.

To safely complete this scheme of works, we will be undertaking this works overnight. This will help to minimise disruption to the local area, in particular when traffic volumes are reduced, enabling the works to be completed as soon as possible.

Road closures and lane closures will be required during the works and more information will be provided once our construction programme is finalised.

When are the works taking place?

The work will commence on the 8 of April 2024 and is anticipated to be completed by the 26 April 2024.

What is the duration of the works?

Approximately 3 weeks to complete the works.

Will I be able to access my home/business?

For the small number of properties within the work area, access will be maintained when safe to do so, however at times access may not be possible within the areas of work for short periods. This is for both your safety and the safety of the workforce.

A primary road diversion route will be in place for through traffic during the closures.

What effect could the works have on me?

We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community but as with any major works, some minor traffic delays may occur.

Although we will do our best to ensure that noise pollution is kept to a minimum, it is likely that construction noise will be heard during the working times.

Please take care to plan your journeys and if necessary move vehicles to an accessible location.

Ahead of the works taking place, residential letters will be delivered to affected properties with specific scheme details.
