CX060 Carriageway Resurfacing Works on A5190 Lichfield Road, Cannock

Staffordshire County Council will shortly be carrying out significant works at A5190 Lichfield Road, Cannock, as work commences on a £116,000 investment in the local area. This scheme of work is due to take place between the signalised junctions of Devon Road and Eastern Way. With resurfacing to be carried out on the Eastbound carriageway.

Work will include replacement of ironwork where necessary, cleansing and repair of all drainage systems, replacing damaged kerbs, and resurfacing of the carriageway, followed by re- painting of road markings.

Due to the nature of these works and the location, a road closure will be required, to ensure that all necessary works can be completed safely and swiftly.

When are the works taking place?

The work will commence on 12th January and will take approximately 5 days to complete all tasks. Road closures will be in place 24hrs each day between 07:30 commencing at 07:30 and 17:30 on 12th January.

Access to residents will be made available when safe to do so and temporary parking areas will be put n place for residents when access to driveways is not possible.

What is the duration of the works?

Approximately 5 days.

Will I be able to access my home/business?

Vehicle access to all residential properties will be restricted during the works. Access will be granted to properties only when safe to do so. A diversion route suitable for all vehicle types will be signposted on site.

Our teams will assist all residents with suitable safe parking within the road closure when driveways are not accessible. Pedestrian access will be available at all times.

What effect could the works have on me?

We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community but as with any major works, some minor traffic delays may occur.

Although we will do our best to ensure that noise pollution is kept to a minimum, it is likely that construction noise will be heard during the working times. Please take care to plan your journeys as delays may be expected during the works.
