A34 Highway Improvements, Stafford. Town Centre to Weeping Cross
Maintenance and infrastructure improvements along the A34 Corridor, from Weeping Cross to Stafford Town Centre, have now been successfully completed, only a small number of remedial works outstanding following the Stage 3 Road Safety Audit.
The scheme delivered a range of road and transport enhancements, including road and bridge maintenance, active travel upgrades, passenger transport improvements and new street lighting along the A34 between the Town Centre and the A34/A513 double traffic island at Weeping Cross.
The project covered several key routes, including A34 Lichfield Road, North Walls, Queensville Roundabout, Queensville, Radford Bank, Baswich Lane, Cannock Road and Weeping Cross.
The works were undertaken in eight phases, beginning in early June 2024 and completing in March 2026. Bus services were affected during construction between Queensville Roundabout and the Town Centre.
