Work starts on next stage of Burton cycleway project

• Work has now started on Phase 3/5 of the Borough Road cycleway project in Burton.

• This latest phase will see crews work on Wellington Street and will take around two weeks to complete.

• Work paused for two weeks to allow for repairs on Stapenhill Road without causing excessive disruption.

Highways improvements completed in Newcastle

• £260k improvement scheme at Dimsdale Parade West in Newcastle completed.

• Work included road resurfacing and kerb/ironworks repairs.

• Part of new Roadmap towards better and safer roads.

The Morfe Mill road bridge in Enville, which has just undergone strengthening works.

Bridge strengthening works complete in South Staffordshire

• Strengthening works have been completed on Morfe Mill Bridge in Enville.

• Work included adding a new concrete saddle and parapets and added protections to foundations.

• It is one of over 500 road bridges in Staffordshire estimated to be over 100 years old.

Road safety improvements to start in Biddulph next week

• Four-day highways scheme in Biddulph to start Monday 23 February.

• Scheme will improve road safety on A527 Congleton Road by reducing speed limit and installing new road markings for higher visibility.

• Road will be closed 8am to 4pm each day of works with diversion in place.

Staffy art trail design competition opens to the public

• Residents can now enter a competition to design a Staffy statue for a major new public art trail.

• A copy of Staffy's outline can be downloaded online or collected from any Staffordshire library.

• Up to three winners will be picked, whose designs will be brought to life by professional local artists.

Construction of the Borough Road Cycleway in Burton.

Burton cycleway works passes project milestone

• Phase two of the Borough Road cycleway works is now complete and remains on track for a May finish.

• There will now be a two-week pause on the project to allow for other essential road repairs on Stapenhill Road.

• Work on the cycleway will restart at the beginning of March.

Road safety improvements in Staffordshire Moorlands to start next week

• Crews will be starting improvements between Endon and Brown Edge to make the roads safer.

• Work will begin on Monday 23 February and is due to take four to five days to complete.

• Improvements include new 30mph signs and safety camera, upgraded Give Way sign and new road markings.

Highways repairs underway on Newcastle Road in Eccleshall

• Repairs being carried out at A519 Newcastle Road between Mill Meece and Cotes Heath.

• Work starts today (Monday 16 February) and is expected to take five days to complete.

• Rolling road closure in effect between 8am and 4pm daily.

• Highways crew responsible for gritting highest village in England visits local school in Staffordshire Moorlands.

• The crew showed Blackshaw Moor First School pupils their gritter and explained how grit works

• School staff say that the children loved the experience, while the gritting crew enjoyed the children's enthusiasm and questions
