Highways crews at Staffordshire County Council have completed a £260,000 improvement scheme at Dimsdale Parade West in Newcastle.

The works, which began in January, included resurfacing of the road along with repairs to kerbs and ironworks.

Patrick Allen, Cabinet Support Member for Highways North at Staffordshire County Council, said:

“We are pleased to see yet another important highways scheme in the borough finished.

“These works are part of our wider investment in improving our extensive road network and keeping Staffordshire moving. Our engineers and crews planned and executed the project well, getting the work done with minimal disruption.  I hope residents enjoy the improvements and I’d like to thank them for their co-operation during the works.”

In October, the county council launched a new Roadmap towards better, safer and more reliable roads and is already seeing early improvements in how quickly and effectively crews can respond to issues.  The authority is also investing an extra £15 million over the next two years to improve roads and tackle the back log of potholes.
