The children and young people's advocacy and independent visitor service covers advocacy, independent visitor services, and advocacy for parents.

Independent visitor service

The Independent Visitor Service provides a trained, independent adult who offers advice, support, mentoring, and befriending to a child or young person in care, where the child or young person wants this and it is in their best interests.

Eligibility

  • Available to Children and Young People in the Care of Staffordshire County Council
  • All Children and Young People in Care are entitled to access an Independent Visitor, where it is in their best interest and with their agreement 

Referrals

Referrals will be made by:

  • The Children in Care Service
  • The Children’s Disability Service (where the Child is in Care)
