CX023/24 A34 - Weeping Cross to Queensville

Site investigation works and street lighting replacements on A34 from Weeping Cross to Queensville, Stafford.

Staffordshire County Council together with Amey will shortly be carrying out carriageway coring and drainage investigations.

E.ON will be carrying out the street lighting replacements.

Further highway improvement works including carriageway and footway resurfacing will take place during 2024/2025, exact details will be confirmed in due course.

When are the works taking place?

The investigations and street lighting works will commence on 2 January 2024.

What is the duration of the works?

The completion date is programmed for late March 2024.

Will I be able to access my home/business?

To minimise traffic disruption, the investigations will be carried out at night times, during week nights from 7:30pm to 6am with various traffic management measures being used.

The street lighting replacements will be carried out during off-peak, restricted day time hours.

Access to frontages within the works areas will be maintained as far as practically possible, however some delays may be experienced.

What effect could the works have on me?

We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community but as with any major works, some traffic delays may occur.

Although we will do our best to ensure that noise pollution is kept to a minimum, it is likely that construction noise will be heard during the working times.

How you can help us

  • Please keep children away from the works to ensure their safety.
  • Please drive appropriately through the works.
  • Check your shoes before entering your property or car to make sure there is no bitumen from the works.
