CX029 A449 Wolverhampton Road, Stafford

From A34/A449 Kwik Fit Roundabout to Ingestre Road/Railway bridge.

Staffordshire County Council together with Amey will be carrying out drainage repairs, kerbing, footway patching and carriageway resurfacing at the above location.

When are the works taking place?

The Works will commence on 4 March 2024.

What is the duration of the works?

The  works are expected to take approximately 11 weeks.

Will I be able to access my home/business?

To minimise traffic disruption, the works will be carried out with temporary road closures as follows:

  • One way road closure, all traffic permitted northbound towards Stafford Town only.

From 4 March to 21 April.

From 29 April to 12 May.

  • Full road closures

From 22 April for one week.

From 13 May for one week.

At various times, there will be a series of side road closures, signed diversions and one-way systems will be reversed to allow vehicular access.

Exact dates, times and access arrangements will be confirmed and signed on site in due course.

What effect could the works have on me?

We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community but as with any major works, some traffic delays may occur.

Although we will do our best to ensure that noise pollution is kept to a minimum, it is likely that construction noise will be heard during the working times.

How you can help us

  • Please keep children away from the works to ensure their safety.
  • Always adhere to the road closures and follow the diversion routes.
  • Please drive appropriately through the works.
  • Check your shoes before entering your property or car to make sure there is no bitumen from the works.
