Kidsgrove Town Centre Highway Improvement Scheme

April 2025 Informal Consultation

As part of the UK Government’s Town Deal initiative, we are are proposing a series of highway improvements in Kidsgrove Town Centre, in partnership with Newcastle Under Lyme Borough Council. The aim of this project is to improve public spaces, support the local economy, and enhance opportunities for the community.

These proposed measures have been developed following the consultation held by Kidsgrove Town Deal Board on 27 July 2024. The proposals include:

  • Making Station Road and Meadows Road one-way between the A50 Liverpool Road and The Avenue

  • No right turns into Heathcote Street for vehicles coming from The Avenue or heading west on the A50 Liverpool Road

  • Making Market Street one-way between the access from Home Bargains and Heathcote Street

  • Introducing no loading at any time restrictions on Market Street between properties 24 to 44

  • Installing a raised uncontrolled pedestrian crossing on Market Street

  • Installing speed cushions on Vine Bank Road

  • 1 metre of parking will be removed on Station Road to make space for a new built-out area and uncontrolled pedestrian crossing.

  • New short-stay parking restrictions will be added on Meadows Road

  • Installing or relocating ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restrictions as needed

These proposed measures are illustrated in the consultation drawings below:
