CX042, Carriageway Resurfacing Works on A5121 Derby Rd, Burton upon Trent

Staffordshire County Council will shortly be carrying out significant works at A5121 Derby Rd, Burton upon Trent, as work commences on a £810,000 investment in the local area. This scheme of work is due to take place at the gyratory of Derby Turn roundabout and will extend 300m in to A511 Horninglow road.

Work will include replacement of ironwork where necessary, cleansing and repair of all drainage systems, replacing damaged kerbs, replacing damaged guard rails and resurfacing of the carriageway, followed by re-painting of road markings.

Due to the nature of these works and the location, a road closure will be required during some stages of the project, to ensure that all necessary works can be completed safely and swiftly.

When are the works taking place?

The work will commence on Monday 11th August and will take approximately 7 weeks to complete all tasks. Traffic signals and lane closures will be used where possible. Road closures will be in place each day between 07:30 and 17:30 where absolutely necessary. Road closures will be lifted as early as possible on each shift.

How long will the works take?

Approximately 7 weeks.

Will I be able to access my home/business?

Vehicle access to all residential properties will be restricted during the works. Access will be granted to properties only when safe to do so. A diversion route suitable for all vehicle types will be signposted on site. Out teams will assist all residents and businesses with suitable parking locations outside the works area and pedestrian access. Pedestrian access will be available at all times.

What effect could the works have on me?

We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community but as with any major works, some minor traffic delays may occur.
Although we will do our best to ensure that noise pollution is kept to a minimum, it is likely that construction noise will be heard during the working times. Please take care to plan your journeys as delays may be expected during the works.
