Early Years Financial Incentive - "Golden Hello"

Staffordshire was selected to join an exciting national pilot to encourage people to return to or start a career in early years.

This meant that eligible settings could sign up to participate in the pilot and offer the incentive to support with advertising positions and recruiting staff. 

The Department for Education (DfE) launched the pilot to test whether financial incentives in the early years sector will boost recruitment. New research highlights just how influential early years professionals are in a child’s development, with 97% of parents agreeing that an early years professional had an impact on their child’s development.
