Assessment Management Plans (AMPs)

The Department for Education has determined the format and method for AMPs. All local authorities must maintain an AMP, and the DfE uses this to inform capital investment for each Local Authority.

The assessment covers three core areas:

  • Suitability Impact 'A' - Unable to deliver part or all of the Curriculum.
  • Suitability Impact 'B' - Teaching methods inhibited.
  • Suitability Impact 'C' - Management or organisation of the School adversely affected.
  • Suitability Impact 'D' - Pupil / Staff morale or Pupil behaviour affected.

Criteria

The Curriculum Model assesses the requirements of a Secondary school on the basis of:

  • pupil numbers
  • pupil ages
  • curriculum details
  • timetabling arrangements
  • space area standards
