Determining Priorities

The AMP informs all aspects of planned capital investment.  In particular, issues included in the Authority's Planned Replacement Programme (PRP) use condition information in the AMP Database to prioritise. The authority consulted on changes to this PRP prioritisation method early in 2006, with the changes adopted from 2007/8.  The consultation paper can be found at Schools Capital Consultation.

The process is also explained in more detail in Staffordshire's revised AMP Statement of Priorities.

Net Capacity

When compared with the number on roll it can show the number of places that are surplus or the extra places required in a school. When divided by the number of year groups it can be used to show the admission number that can generally be accommodated.

For primary schools, the number and size of spaces designated as classbases calculates the net capacity.

Project Brief

The Project Brief is a written document, compiled by the Development Officer or Development Support Officer following discussions with the school concerning the requirements and outcomes of the project.
