Resurfacing of key road in Uttoxeter complete

A major highways scheme to resurface the A518 Town Meadows Way in Uttoxeter has now been completed.

The £950,000 project, delivered by Staffordshire County Council over seven weeks, saw crews resurface both the carriageway and the adjoining double roundabout, significantly improving one of the town's busiest routes.

As part of the scheme, highways teams also repaired damaged kerbs, drains and other ironwork, while gullies were cleared to help improve drainage and reduce the risk of flooding.

To keep disruption to a minimum for residents, businesses and motorists, all resurfacing work was carried out overnight.

Patrick Allen, Staffordshire County Council's Cabinet Support Member for Highways North, said:

"I'm delighted to see this major investment in Uttoxeter completed. Town Meadows Way is a key route through the town and carries thousands of journeys every day, so it's important that we continue investing in our roads and keeping them in the best possible condition.

"I'd like to thank residents, businesses and motorists for their patience while the work was carried out, and I'm pleased that everyone can now enjoy safer and smoother journeys through Uttoxeter."
