Investors visit Burton and Uttoxeter ahead of major property event
More than 20 investors and developers have visited Burton and Uttoxeter to look at key sites for future investment.
The visit took place ahead of the UK Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF), which will be held in Leeds next month.
Key sites on display
The event, called From Brewery Roots to Future Growth, included visits to:
- The Old Brewery Quarter in Burton
- The Maltings site in Uttoxeter
- Tower Brewery
- Uttoxeter Racecourse
It followed a similar event held at the House of Commons last month.
Focus on growth
Leaders used the visit to highlight plans for several major projects, including:
- The Old Brewery Quarter
Plans to turn historic buildings into a visitor destination with a hotel, public space and better links to the Washlands - The Maltings, Uttoxeter
A 4.4‑acre mixed-use site, with work expected to start later this year - Burton Towns Fund (£23.8 million)
A new leisure complex, food hall, visitor centre, housing and improvements to historic buildings - A50/A500 growth corridor
A key route that could support up to 17,000 jobs, 30,000 homes and £12 billion in economic growth
The A50/A500 route is being considered by the government for future upgrades after 2030.
What leaders said
Martin Murray, leader of Staffordshire County Council, said:
“Burton and Uttoxeter have huge potential, and we’re working with partners to attract long‑term investment.”
Jacob Collier, MP for Burton and Uttoxeter, said:
“It was great to welcome investors and show what both towns have to offer.”
Mick Fitzpatrick, leader of East Staffordshire Borough Council, said:
“This was a great chance to showcase our biggest development plans.”

UKREiiF brings together more than 16,000 investors, developers and public sector leaders each year.
