A major highways improvement scheme on the A518 Town Meadow Way in Uttoxeter is moving into its next phase, with overnight resurfacing works set to begin next week.
The £950,000 investment, which began last month, has already seen essential maintenance including replacing ironwork and damaged kerbs.
The scheme is now progressing to the resurfacing phase, which will help provide a smoother and more durable road surface for motorists.
To allow the resurfacing to be completed safely, overnight road closures will be in place from Monday 15 June to Friday 26 June, between 7pm and 6am each night. The closures will affect the A518 Town Meadow Way, including the double roundabouts, and a signed diversion will be in place.
Residents and businesses are being advised to plan ahead, allow extra time for journeys and avoid parking within the work area during this period.
Patrick Allen, Cabinet Member for Highways North at Staffordshire County Council, said:
We’re pleased to see this important scheme in Uttoxeter progressing into its next key phase.
Since starting in May, our teams have been carrying out essential repairs and we’re now ready to complete the resurfacing that will significantly improve the road for everyone who uses it. Overnight closures are never ideal, but they are the safest and most efficient way to carry out this type of work.
We’d like to thank people for their continued patience while we deliver these important improvements for the town.”
