Working together to protect victims of domestic abuse

• A four-year plan for continued support of domestic abuse victims via safe accommodation services to be proposed.
• The proposal will be discussed at the council's next Cabinet, which is Wednesday 20 May.
• The plan involves continued partnership with three specialist organisations for the next four years.

• Preventative maintenance will be carried out on hundreds of roads in Staffordshire
• Treatment is carried out on roads before they deteriorate
• Surface dressing can prolong the life of roads by up to 15 years

• £2.3m Derby Road resurfacing is under way and will last around 3 months.
• Overnight works will start from from 6 July (7pm–6am, Mon–Fri).
• Diversions will be via Hawkins Lane and the A38

Highways scheme in Biddulph completed

• £580,000 scheme in Biddulph completed

• The scheme on Meadows Way involved resurfacing the road and repairs to kerbs

• Scheme took 4 weeks to complete

King Charles III at the National Memorial Arboretum

Staffordshire proudly celebrates 25 years of the National Memorial Arboretum

• The National Memorial Arboretum is celebrating its 25th anniversary on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 May.

• The weekend will feature live music, storytelling performances and moments for remembrance.

• The NMA is a national landmark, having hosted many memorial events and hosted guests such as King Charles III and Queen Elizabeth II.

New Burton town centre cycleway completed

• The construction of a new cycleway, linking Burton railway station with the Town Hall, is complete.

• The cycleway connects key parts of Burton town centre with residential areas across the town through the National Cycle Network (NCN).

• The county council funded road repairs along the route at the same time to reduce repeat roadworks.

Resurfacing work begins in Burton town centre

• Worthington Way is being resurfaced in Burton town centre.

• The work will take place overnight for three weeks, not including weekends or bank holidays.

• Roads will remain open to all traffic during the daytime and businesses will be open as usual.
