County Council to discuss plan to manage Staffordshire’s highways

• Cabinet will consider a Traffic and Network Management Plan for Staffordshire’s 4,000+ miles of roads.

• It aims to better coordinate roadworks and events with utilities and neighbours to cut disruption.

• The plan backs wider transport goals and will be discussed on 15 April.

Programme of improvements outlined for Staffordshire schools

• Plan for improving and repairing Staffordshire schools over 2026/27 period to be discussed at Cabinet on Wednesday 15 April.

• Capital Programme for Schools 2026/27 will see facility upgrades and building repairs at over 60 schools.

• Improvements also include sustainability upgrades to improve insulation and be better for the environment.

• Counterfeit goods, such as fake cosmetics, clothes and electrical goods, often contain health risks and present fire hazards

Staffy Trail expected to generate £600K for visitor economy

• The long-awaited Staffy Trail is expected to generate at least £600,000 for Staffordshire's visitor economy.

• The trail, featuring 10 Staffy sculptures and 40 mystery stops, is expected to attract more than 30,000 visitors.

• Spanning multiple locations, the Staffy Trail will be the first of its kind in the region.

• £400k road works start 7 April and will last around 4 weeks
• Works include repairs to kerbs and ironwork, then full resurfacing on Walsall Road
• Traffic lights will be in place 7–17 April, with overnight closures from 20 April (diversions signed)
