Staffy Trail expected to generate £600K for visitor economy

• The long-awaited Staffy Trail is expected to generate at least £600,000 for Staffordshire's visitor economy.

• The trail, featuring 10 Staffy sculptures and 40 mystery stops, is expected to attract more than 30,000 visitors.

• Spanning multiple locations, the Staffy Trail will be the first of its kind in the region.

£400,000 Walsall Road resurfacing works due to start

• £400k road works start 7 April and will last around 4 weeks
• Works include repairs to kerbs and ironwork, then full resurfacing on Walsall Road
• Traffic lights will be in place 7–17 April, with overnight closures from 20 April (diversions signed)

Get involved in the biggest Staffordshire Day celebration to date

• People are being encouraged to organise their own events to help mark the 10th anniversary of Staffordshire Day.

• This year’s celebrations include the launch of the new Staffy Trail, which aims to draw visitors into town centres.

• Communities, businesses and organisations are urged to submit their events to the Visit Staffordshire website, with promotional material available to download to support participation.

• The £40k scheme is part of the ‘A FAIR (Flood: Aware, Informed, Resilient) Approach to Community Flood Risk’ project

• Work included installing anti-flooding airbricks, deflective railings and floodgates
