A new Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills has been appointed at Staffordshire County Council.
Robin Hall, who represents Burntwood South, takes over the role from Martin Murray – the newly elected Council Leader.
Robin brings to the role more than 30 years of international board-level experience and has served as Chair of the Pension Committee, Vice-Chair of the Charities and Trusts Committee and Chair of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee at the council.
Martin said:
“I am delighted to welcome Robin to Cabinet and I have no doubt his wealth of industry experience will prove a real asset to Cabinet, the council and to the Staffordshire economy.”
Robin added:
“Staffordshire has huge potential, but I want to see an even sharper focus on growth, skills and real tangible benefits for residents and businesses alike.
“My background is in turning strategy into results, whether that’s supporting businesses, improving infrastructure or ensuring taxpayers’ money is used effectively and I am looking forward to putting this into practice at the council.”
Martin Murray was elected as Leader of the Council on March 26. Martin will continue to lead on Local Government Reorganisation and Devolution.
Hayley Coles, the Cabinet Member for Communities and Culture, was appointed Deputy Leader of the Council.
