Requesting, replacing or removing equipment

Fixed equipment

Examples include stair lifts, ceiling hoists and level-access showers.

These are installed in your home and cannot be moved once fitted.

Requesting new fixed equipment

  • Contact Staffordshire Cares to ask for new equipment or to arrange an assessment.

Replacing or removing fixed equipment

Stairlifts

  • If you need a stairlift removed, this is the owner’s responsibility unless the stairlift was provided for a child under 18.

Moving home

  • Fixed equipment cannot be moved to a new property. Contact Staffordshire Cares for a new assessment if you are moving.

Portable equipment

Examples include walking frames, shower chairs and small aids. 

These can be moved easily and are maintained by Medequip.
