How to apply for a disabled facilities grant

If you think you need major adaptations to your home, the first step is to contact Staffordshire Cares:

They’ll talk through your situation and check if a Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) might be right for you.
What happens next
- Initial check: Staffordshire Cares will review your needs and confirm if an assessment is required.
- Assessment: If you’re eligible, an Occupational Therapist will visit your home to discuss what adaptations would help you most.
- Approval: If the proposed work is necessary and appropriate, we will guide you through the next steps, including funding and timescales.
