Rail strategy

What is the rail strategy?

The Rail Strategy sets out the role of Staffordshire's rail network now and in the future.  It is objective led and sets out the challenges and opportunities facing Staffordshire's rail network together with how this can be addressed.

How was the strategy being developed?

In January 2013 we held our first ever rail summit. This brought together industry experts to identify the economic, social and environmental priorities that provided the basis for our rail strategy.

There were over 60 delegates in attendance and the outcomes of the summit have been published into a workshop report.

How have residents been included?

Based on the outcomes of the summit, a questionnaire was created to allow both residents and users of the rail network to shape the development rail strategy.

The outcomes of this consultation have been collated and published in a consultation report.
