Library Service Updates
Staffordshire Libraries: Help Shape the Future of Your Local Community Hubs
Staffordshire County Council is inviting residents to help shape the future of its 43 libraries - not just as places to borrow books, but as vibrant, inclusive community hubs that reflect the needs and aspirations of local people.
Libraries across Staffordshire already offer far more than books. From creative workshops and youth programmes to arts events, digital support, in-house cafés, and community groups, they are evolving into welcoming spaces for learning, wellbeing, connections, and enterprise. Some even provide help with everyday tasks like paying bills, accessing public services, and developing digital skills.
Now, we want to hear from you. What services or activities would you like to see more of? What's missing that could make your local library even more useful? What existing services work well and could be built upon?
This consultation also explores how opening hours can better suit modern lifestyles and how libraries can support and engage volunteers to help deliver a broader range of services and activities. Whether you're a regular visitor or haven't stepped inside a library in years, your views will help shape the future of these vital community spaces.
