CX008 Structural Maintenance Works on A515 Lichfield Road, Rileyhill
Staffordshire County Council will shortly be carrying out significant works at A515 Lichfield Road, Rileyhill as work commences on a £360,000 investment in the local area.
This scheme of work is due to take place from 50m South of The West Coast Main Line railway bridge and will end 40m north of Wood End Lane Junction.
Work will include replacement of ironwork where necessary, cleansing of all drainage systems, replacing damaged kerbs and resurfacing the carriageway, replacement of road markings and cats eyes. At the same time as this structural maintenance scheme takes place routine maintenance teams will be utilising the road closure to carry out drainage works, replacement of signage and tree pruning to clear view to signs.
Due to the nature of these works and the location a road closure will be required to ensure that all necessary works can be completed safely and swiftly.
When are the works taking place?
The work will commence on Monday 2 June and will take approximately 2 weeks to complete all tasks. Road closures will be in place each day between 07:00 and 19:00.
Road closures will be lifted as early as possible on each shift
How long will the works take?
Approximately 14 days.
Will I be able to access my home/business?
No properties are located within the working area. A diversion route suitable for all vehicle types will be signposted on site. Access will be made available to enter and exit Wood End Lane from the north, when possible to do so. Public and businesses should plan to use the signed diversion at all times.
What effect could the works have on me?
We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community but as with any major works, some minor traffic delays may occur.
Although we will do our best to ensure that noise pollution is kept to a minimum, it is likely that construction noise will be heard during the working times.
Please take care to plan your journeys as delays may be expected during the works.
Please be cautious of low bridges and weight restricted locations if using un-signed unofficial diversion routes.
How you can help us
You can help us to get the job done with the minimum of fuss by following this advice:
- Please keep children away from the works to ensure their safety.
- Please drive slowly and cautiously on approach to road closures.
- Please use the signed diversion route.
