Site Investigation Works on A34 Beecroft Road, Cannock

Staffordshire County Council will shortly be carrying out Site Investigation works on the A34 round about junction of Beecroft Road and its approaches.

The team will be undertaking core sampling and trial holes in the carriageway. A CCTV survey of carriageway drainage will also be undertaken during this time, checking brickwork chambers and cleaning all the gullies between the above locations.

This is in preparation for the full carriageway resurfacing project that is set to take place in April 2024

When are the works taking place?

The work will commence on 15 January 2024

What is the duration of the works?

The works will take approximately one week, ending on the 20 January 2024

Will I be able to access my home/business?

For the safety of the public and of the work force, there will be phased traffic management including lane closures and traffic signals during the site investigation works. Works will take place between the hours of 19:00 – 06:00 (Nighttime working).

For the small number of properties within the work area, access will be maintained when safe to do so. Delays must be expected during the work period.

What effect could the works have on me?

We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community but as with any major works, some minor traffic delays may occur.

Although we will do our best to ensure that noise pollution is kept to a minimum, it is likely that construction noise will be heard during the working times.

Please take care to plan your journeys as delays may be expected during the site investigation works.

You can help us to get the job done with the minimum of fuss by following this advice:

  • Please keep children away from the works to ensure their safety.
  • Please drive slowly and cautiously through the works.
  • Check your shoes before entering your property or car to make sure there is no bitumen from the works.
