On Street Parking Enforcement Privacy Notice
The type of personal information we collect
We collect the following information as part of the parking enforcement process:
- Name
- Address
- Email Address
- Penalty Reference
- If paying by cheque – any supporting information sent with the cheque
- If paying online or by phone – payment details such as card details are collected when payment is made
How we get your personal information and why we collect it
When you make payment, information is sent to our payment provider Access Paysuite. Access Paysuite then provide the information to us. We have access to all information listed above, however card details are encrypted.
We collect this data so that we are able to process payments and manage the enforcement of On-Street Parking penalties.
Penalty Notices are originally issued by Stoke-on-Trent City council on behalf of Staffordshire County Council, and payments are made to us via our payment provider. Stoke-on-Trent City council’s privacy notice for parking enforcement can be found here:

Staffordshire County Council use the information that you provide in order to process payments made for penalty charges.
We share information provided with Stoke City Council. The information we share with Stoke Council is:
- Payment (GE) Reference
- Amount of payment
- Value of payment
We share this with Stoke so that they are able to mark fines as paid on their system.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we rely on the lawful basis ‘Public Task’ - “processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller”. We rely on public task in respect of regulations made under the Traffic Management Act 2004. Complying with these regulations ensures that we can effectively deliver parking and traffic related services.
How your information is stored
The information we collect is securely stored on our income management system, Access Paysuite. This is stored for 7 years.
We also store Date, Value and Payment Reference on our payment system, Integra. This information will be held on this system for 6 years.
