CX077 Overnight Structural Maintenance Work for the A460 Lodge Lane Roundabout, Saredon

Staffordshire County Council will be carrying out works along the A460 Lodge Lane Roundabout, and sections of Saredon Road Saredon.

Works will include the replacement and adjustments of kerbs where necessary, along with the removal of the existing carriageway ironworks and re-setting them. Following the above works, we will then begin the carriageway reconstruction works, this will include the removal of the existing carriageway surface and replacing it with a new surface, along with the replacement of new road markings.

During the overnight works the A460 Lodge Lane will be closed from the roundabout at the A5 Watling Street. Saredon Road will be closed from the leisure centre car park. A signed diversion route will be in place during the closures.

The road closures will be in place from 7pm to 6am Monday to Friday. Outside of these times the road will remain open.

Due to the size and scale of construction machines being used and to ensure the safety of the general public and workforce, the works will be carried out under full road closures.

We recognise that there is never a good time to undertake road works, however we have planned to undertake this scheme of works overnight. This will help to minimise disruption to the local area, in particular when traffic volumes are reduced, which will enable the works to be completed as soon as possible.

Please allow extra time for your journeys and, where possible, please use alternative routes to avoid delays. Please do not ignore road closure signage.

When are the works taking place?

The overnight works will commence on Monday 27 July and works are due to be completed by Tuesday 11 August 2026. Works will take place overnight Monday to Friday.

How long will the works take?

Approximately 12 days to complete the works.

Will I be able to access my home/business?

For the number of properties within the work area, access will be maintained when safe to do so, however at times access may not be possible.

A signed diversion route will be in place during the closures; along with designated personnel at either end of the closure points to offer assistance with residential properties access.

Pedestrian access along the length of the works will be maintained throughout.

What effect could the works have on me?

We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community but as with any major works, some minor traffic delays may occur.

The works may at times be noisy, and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disturbance caused. We’ll do our best to complete the work as quickly and safely as possible. We like to thank you for your patience during this works.

Please take care to plan your journeys and if necessary move vehicles to an accessible location.

Ahead of the works taking place, residential letters will be delivered to affected properties with specific scheme details.
