Carriageway resurfacing works on Walsall Road, Norton Canes (B4154)

Staffordshire County Council will shortly be carrying out significant works at B4154 Walsall road, as work commences on a £386,000 investment in the local area.

This scheme of work is due to take place from 50m south of Betty’s lane to 50 m north of Norton Green Lane.

Work will include replacement of ironwork where necessary, cleansing and repair of all drainage systems, replacing damaged kerbs, replacing damaged concrete pads and resurfacing of the carriageway, followed by re- painting of road markings.

Due to the nature of these works and the location, a road closure will be required during some stages of the project, to ensure that all necessary works can be completed safely and swiftly.

When are the works taking place?

The work will commence on Tuesday 7th April and will take approximately 4 weeks to complete all tasks. Traffic signals will be used between 7th - 17th April 24hrs. Road closures will be in place 20 April – 1 May 19:00- 06:00.

Road closures will be lifted as early as possible on each shift.

How long will the works take?

Approximately 4 weeks.

Will I be able to access my home/business?

Vehicle access to all residential properties will be restricted during the works. Access will be granted to properties only when safe to do so. A diversion route suitable for all vehicle types will be signposted on site. Our teams will assist all residents to access their properties when safe to do so. Pedestrian access will be available at all times.

What effect could the works have on me?

We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community but as with any major works, some minor traffic delays may occur.

Although we will do our best to ensure that noise pollution is kept to a minimum, it is likely that construction noise will be heard during the working times. Please take care to plan your journeys as delays may be expected during the works.
