The Health and Wellbeing Board brings together senior leaders from the council, the NHS and partner organisations. They work together to improve people’s health and wellbeing in Staffordshire and to reduce health inequalities.
The Board is responsible for:
- producing a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA), which describes the health and wellbeing needs of people in Staffordshire
- agreeing a Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy, which sets out shared priorities and how needs will be addressed
- supporting joined‑up working between the council, the NHS and partners, including joint commissioning
- approving Better Care Fund Plans
- publishing a Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment
The Government’s 10-Year Health Plan expects the Board to lead work on neighbourhood health plans with local authorities, the NHS and other partners.
