Thank you for your petition regarding Urgent Safety Improvements Required on the A38 at Swinfen.
Following consultation with our Highways team, I am writing to advise that the section of road referred to in the petition forms part of the A38 Trunk Road Network. As a result, it is managed and maintained by National Highways, rather than Staffordshire County Council.
Unfortunately, this means that Staffordshire County Council is unable to investigate or progress the matters raised within the petition, as the location falls outside the Council's highway authority responsibilities.
If you wish for your concerns to be considered further, we recommend that the petition is submitted directly to National Highways, who are the responsible authority for this section of the network. Their contact details are:
