Am I a carer?
You may be a carer if you help someone with:
- washing, dressing or eating
- medicines or appointments
- staying safe at home or when out
- emotional support or company
- travel, shopping or household tasks
Carers can be any age and care for people of any age or condition.
Why it matters
If you are a carer, you can:
- ask for a free Carer’s Assessment
- get advice, training, and local support
- plan for emergencies and take breaks
- tell your GP so they can offer extra support
