Structural Maintenance Work for the A4091 Coleshill Street scheme, Fazeley

We will shortly be carrying out significant works on the A4091 Coleshill Street scheme in Fazeley, Tamworth. Works will take place from number 85 Coleshill Street to the island at Atherstone Street and Lichfield Street. Works to include Lichfield Street to (Tolsons Mills), Tamworth Road prior to the (canal bridge) and Atherstone Street to the junction of (Tame Court).

Works will include the removal of the existing carriageway surface and replacing it with a new surface (and associated preparatory works known as ‘civil works’), alongside drainage repairs, kerbing replacement, replacement of pedestrian guard rails, replacement of ironwork and minor footway works.

When are the works taking place?

The work will start on Tuesday 26 May 2025.

How long will the works take?

It will take approximately 10 weeks to complete the works.

Will I be able to access my home/business?

During our civil works, temporary lane closures/ lane narrows, and road closures will be in operation during the daytime.

For the safety of general public and workforce, this road will be closed during the carriageway surfacing phases.

More information on how this will work, will be provided once our construction programme is finalised.

For the number of properties within the work area, access will be maintained when safe to do so. Delays must be expected during resurfacing phases.

A diversion route will be in place for properties outside the work space, no through traffic will be permitted.

What effect could the work have on me?

We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community, but as with any major works, some minor traffic delays may occur. Although we will do our best to ensure that noise pollution is kept to a minimum, it is likely that construction noise will be heard during the working times. Please take care to plan your journeys and if necessary move vehicles to an accessible location during work phases.

Residential letters will be delivered to affected properties with specific scheme details.
