Who is the course aimed at?
This course is aimed at people recovering from mental ill health, typically this is anxiety and depression. The course aims to improve confidence and self-esteem through taking part in a wide variety of practical activities.
Entry Requirements
Staffordshire residents aged 19+ who would like to support their wellbeing, are experiencing or recovering from mental ill health or people who are unemployed and would like to re-engage with learning. Learners need to be able to set and monitor their own learning goals and objectives and complete an enrolment form and course documentation unaided.
Course Content
Seasonal learning activities to support health and wellbeing. This includes activities such cooking, crafting, woodwork, countryside skills, animal care, horticulture and floristry.
Learning Methods
Practical tasks, discussion, shared reading and individual learning plans that track personal development and progress.
Learning Support
Learners will have an initial assessment via a phone call or face to face meeting as an introduction to the course and to establish needs.
Course Assessments
Informal assessment, discussions and individual learning records. During the course you will be asked to complete reflections on new skills or knowledge gained on the course which the tutor will provide feedback on.

All materials are supplied.
What can learner’s do next/progress onto?
Learners can progress onto STEM courses, volunteering, further learning or employment.
Are there any fees?
This course is fully funded, so there are no course fees.
