Early Years Quality Support

 

Staffordshire Private, Voluntary, Independent (PVI) Manager Network Meetings

Networking with like-minded professionals can be very supportive and provide a useful opportunity to discuss early years related topics and share good practice and information.

Staffordshire County Council (SCC) are currently offering a county wide termly meeting to deliver a sector update and facilitate an opportunity for professionals to come together to discuss current early years topics and updates. This will be delivered via Teams by an Early Years Quality Support Consultant.

Early Years Sector Communication and Language workshop - autumn term 2023

With the speech, communication, and language deficit still high on the agenda for our children, families, and in your settings, we invite you to join us for this short virtual workshop where you will have the opportunity to:-

  • Reflect on your settings curriculum and how it supports good communication and language development.
  • Develop strategies to support general practice, parent/carer support, and identify where internal and external intervention is needed.
  • Identify relevant professional development opportunities to continually improve your own understanding and practice.

The dates available are:

  • Tuesday 21st November 2023  -   1.30-3:00pm
  • Tuesday 21st November 2023  -   4.30-6.00pm
  • Thursday 23rd November 2023 -  5.30-7:00pm

Staffordshire Schools EYFS Network & Update Meetings

Staffordshire County Council are offering funded termly EYFS network meetings for schools in each double district across Staffordshire. These will provide the latest EYFS update information and be held face-to-face to enable networking and sharing good practice.  An update summary will also be provided in the school bag following the network meetings to support schools who are unable to attend the face-to-face event.

 Places will be limited to one practitioner from each school due to room capacity. To book a place please contact EYQSST@staffordshire.gov.uk detailing the session you would like to attend.

If your school would like to host one of the update sessions in the future, please contact us on the email address above with details of the venue, room capacity and parking facilities.

Moderation

The council provide a range of sessions to support with the completion of the EYFS Profile. These sessions will explain the statutory requirements of the profile as well as highlighting key aspects of the latest EYFSP Handbook. They will also provide teachers with an opportunity to engage in professional dialogue and moderation conversations to build confidence in making accurate end of year assessment judgements.
