Assessment Management Plans (AMPs)

The Department for Education has determined the format and method for AMPs. All local authorities must maintain an AMP, and the DfE uses this to inform capital investment for each Local Authority.

Assessment

The assessment covers three core areas:

Condition

This is a room by room survey of the physical state of the premises. It covers all key permanent parts within the building including:

  • roofs
  • windows
  • walls
  • floors
  • ceilings
  • stairs
  • sanitary services
  • mechanical services (including heating systems)
  • and electrical services.

You can find out more on our Condition Assessment page.

Suitability

This involves comparing existing accommodation with a model appropriate to the size and type of a school.

You can find out more on our Suitability Assessment page.

Sufficiency

This focuses on total areas and on the quantity and organisation of pupil places within and across schools in Staffordshire in relation to the demand for pupil places.

You can find out more on our Sufficiency Assessment page.
