Advice on premise related work

Seeking advice on a proposed scheme

When considering what work within school to address, primary consideration should be given to the information and data contained within the CYPF AMP. The information contained within this document, coupled with local need and priorities set out within the School Development Plan and the School Based AMP, should be the main drivers for identifying and prioritising any premises related work planned within schools. However there may be occasions where other means initiate a project, such as, Ofsted Report comment, Government Initiatives, Health & Safety Inspections, etc.

Where such data isn't contained within the AMP, due to its relative newness and in order to maintain the integrity of the Asset Management process, such additional information should be input into the AMP systems and the resulting work prioritised against previous data to ensure that funding is directed to the highest priority projects in the first instance.

Once a scheme has been identified, schools are strongly advised to contact their Development Officer to establish the likely level of support within the Directorate for the proposal prior to undertaking any development work on the scheme. If agreed in principle, the Development Officer or Capital Development Group Representative will assist schools with the development of the project, if required.
