Digital changes coming to SEND
In Autumn 2026 the EHC Hub will change to the Children's, Young People and Families Portal.
Just like the EHC Hub, everyone involved in an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) will be able to work together to support a child or young person. Information will still be kept up to date, safe, and secure.
When our new Children’s, Young People and Families Portal is ready, we'll contact existing EHC Hub users with some instructions and invite them to set up a login. We will keep this webpage up to date as well.
Why are we changing the EHC Hub?
The county council is moving to a new system across Children and Families to replace the existing CareDirector platform, which is our social care database. As part of this change the EHC Hub, our EHCP digital platform, will also be replaced.
The EHC Hub will change to the new Children's, Young People and Families Portal, creating a more joined up approach across our services. Our aim is everyone involved with EHCPs will have a better experience.
What are the systems you are using?
The new Children's, Young People and Families Portal will be using Liquidlogic, which is provided by the company System C. Many other local authorities use Liquidlogic to manage their records. Everything we are doing will comply with the legislation designed to keep your data safe and secure.
When will this happen? What are the next steps?
We are building the new Children’s, Young People and Families Portal.
We will be inviting our partners, such as education settings, health, social care and our Parent Carer Forum to test the EHCP parts of the new Children’s, Young People and Families Portal.
We will be working hard over coming months to get the Children’s, Young People and Families Portal right, and to get ready for the move to a new database.
The new system will go live during October.
