Course Content

Throughout the course we will focus on key transferable skills, identifying and developing them through fun, practical, nature-inspired activities, such as den building and fire lighting. A warm and welcoming environment provides the opportunity to raise confidence and allows space and time for reflection to support next steps. Home learning will also give a chance to develop key digital skills with friendly support on hand!

Learning Methods

This is a 42-hour blended course held over 6 weeks. The first full week is online / remote. We will then meet each week for 4 hours in person, and this will be followed up with 3 hours of home learning.

Learner Support

Your tutor guides this course and provides expert support wherever needed. We offer choice and flexibility to provide a quality learning experience. We work together to ensure the course is accessible and works for you. We offer a personal approach to our courses and are on hand to help and support throughout. Through WhatsApp groups and online platforms, we encourage learners to help each other in between the face-to-face sessions, to create a supportive learning environment.

Course Assessments

There are no formal assessments as part of this course. We ask for weekly feedback to encourage regular reflection. There are two compulsory final feedback forms to complete at the end of the course. Your family will receive a certificate of achievement at the end of this course.

Learning Materials

Throughout this blended course all learning resources will be provided, including digital resources to explore online and any kit and equipment needed for the in person sessions. Those on the course will need to wear suitable, weatherproof clothing and provide their own lunch. Hot drinks and snacks will be provided. A resource list will be provided in the welcome email for anything needed to complete the activities at home.

What can learners do next/progress onto?
