Who is the course aimed at?

This Level 3 Skills Bootcamp is aimed at adults who want to enter, re-enter or progress within project management and project support roles. It is suitable for career changers, jobseekers and employees seeking practical skills that can be applied across public, private and third-sector organisations.

The course is particularly relevant to those interested in opportunities within construction, digital, health, local government and professional services. It prepares learners for roles such as Project Administrator, Project Support Officer, Project Co-ordinator, Team Leader and Junior Project Manager.

The programme suits learners who prefer a practical, applied approach. Through a realistic project scenario, participants develop professional documents including a project initiation document, scope statement, Gantt chart, resource plan, stakeholder and communication plan, RAID tracker, change request, highlight report and closure report.

Learners also develop essential workplace behaviours, including teamwork, communication, accountability, ethical practice, problem-solving and reflection. Careers support—including CV development, LinkedIn optimisation, job-search strategies and interview preparation—helps learners confidently pursue employment or progression.

The Bootcamp also provides a foundation for further development through PRINCE2 Foundation, APM Project Fundamentals Qualification or a Level 4 Associate Project Manager apprenticeship

Entry requirements

No formal prior project management qualification is specified. Applicants should be ready to participate in blended learning, including live online sessions and Moodle activities, complete written and numerical project tasks, collaborate in teams, and undertake an English and maths diagnostic at induction. Additional learning needs will be assessed so appropriate support can be arranged.

What you will learn

Learn how to support a project from initiation to closure. You will cover project principles, governance, lifecycles, scope, business cases, scheduling, Gantt charts, resources and budgets. Develop skills in stakeholder communication, risk and issue management, change control, performance reporting, quality, ethics and sustainability. You will also build a professional project portfolio and strengthen your teamwork, presentation, CV and interview skills.

Learning materials

You will need a laptop or desktop computer with reliable internet access for live online sessions and Moodle activities, plus a microphone and camera. Have a notebook and pen for planning and reflective activities. Course slides, scenario materials, worksheets, assessment templates and supporting resources will be provided digitally.

Learning methods

Learn through weekly live online classes, supported by the Moodle site for pre-lesson preparation and post-lesson study. Moodle provides SCORM modules, readings, worksheets, templates and follow-up tasks. In live sessions, you will apply your learning to the Daily Grind project through tutor demonstrations, discussions, teamwork, role plays, peer review and presentations, with regular feedback and one-to-one support available.

Learner support

At Cenit, learners are supported from enrolment to progression. Every learner has access to a dedicated tutor, Programme Coordinator and Learner Support Officer, with regular check-ins, personalised guidance, wellbeing support and help with additional learning needs. Learners also receive support with project work, exam preparation, study skills and career planning, helping them complete the programme and progress with confidence.

How you will be assessed

Assessment is practical and portfolio-based, with no formal exam. You will complete nine professional project documents built around the Daily Grind scenario, deliver a group presentation covering the project lifecycle, and write an individual reflection using Gibbs’ Reflective Cycle. Weekly formative assessment includes tutor feedback, knowledge checks, scenario discussions, peer review and observation of professional and collaborative working.

What can learners progress onto

On completion, learners can progress into roles such as Project Administrator, Project Support Officer, Project Co-ordinator, Team Leader or Junior Project Manager across public, private and third-sector organisations. They can also progress to PRINCE2 Foundation, the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ), or a Level 4 Associate Project Manager apprenticeship.
